I feel so Munster-ish..

Hmm, how did it all start? ..I think I was born with a pencil in my hand. I’ve always wanted to create things, and I’ve always been a huge movie geek – with classic black and white horror closest to my heart. I guess it was in my nature to combine the two thing I love and have interest in.

In my shop you’ll find art made from the heart. Original pieces that I’ve always wanted to paint in my own style, mostly inspired by the many horror movies that I love, with the amazing actors that I never get tired of painting. Unfortunatley my days are filled with so much (and I suffer from FM) and I don’t have that much time or strenght to just sit down all by myself and just paint anymore. *curses*

Anyways, I’m open for commissions, and I’ll gladly answer any of your questions.  Just contact me and I’ll do my best.

A little shop dedicated to knitting and tentacles.

PhysaliaPhysalis was started august 2013, so I could sell my knitting patterns and pieces.

The Portuguese Man O’ War (Physalia physalis), also known as the Portuguese Man-Of-War, Man-Of-War, or Bluebottle, is a jellyfish-like marine cnidarian of the family Physaliidae. Its venomous tentacles can deliver a powerful sting. Despite its outward appearance, the Man o’ War is not a jellyfish but a siphonophore, which differs from jellyfish in that it is not actually a single organism, but a colonial organism made up of many minute individuals called zooids.

Cephalopods and jellyfish are a great fascination of mine and inspire me to be creative.

Etched Passion

I am an professional visual artist who lives in Norway. Printmaking was my first passion, and since 1998 I`ve held more than 50 solo exhibitions with etchings and paintings in gallerys in Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Israel and USA (Twice in Cælum Gallery, NY). I have participated in juryed shows around the world, fex 3rd International MiniPrint Triennial in Lahti, Finland, Jerusalemprint 2000 (Israel), where I was “The prize winning artist.”

These last few years I`ve mostly worked with paintings, but now I am back in my printmaking-studio, very passionated and making a lot of new prints.
I have started to send my art to international juryed shows again, and this summer / autumn I participate in 6 different Miniprint Biennials/Triennials in Canada, Irland, Bulgaria, Indonesia and Argentina.

Wish you all who are wisiting my shop a really beautiful day!

To love beauty is to see light

I am a rat – well, in Chinese astrology I am a rat. I love Ganesha, the wonderful remover of obstacles and giver of wisdom. Unlike other Deities, he does not ride a grand or powerful animal. It is the unglamorous rat who gets to serve Lord Ganesha. I am now happy to consider myself Ganesha’s rat.

I am an artist, and everything in my life revolves around art, spirituality, soul, and beauty. I have made things as long as I can remember. I was one of those kids who made all the birthday and Christmas gifts. I trained as a print maker, painter and mixed media artist. Everything in my shop is conceived and handmade by me – drawn, painted, printed, sewn, molded, and crafted in numerous ways.

“My studio is my temple” – Marc Chagall

I love my studio, I create in the company of an eclectic range of Gods and Goddesses and under the watchful eyes of the boss, Lord Ganesha. The space is filled with inspiring images, sacred objects, art books, and sandalwood incense. I am sustained by endless cups of strong tea and music ( Buddhist mantras, Hindu bahjans, new age, world music, classical, folk and blues)

My creative ideas flow from my spiritual life. I have for example many mantra related products in the shop – mantra jewellery, mantra mala pouches, mantra lavender sachets, mantra books – all born out of my love of sacred mantras. I am always looking for deities, sacred images and all sorts of spiritual things, and if I can’t find it, I try to make it. Many of the things I make started out with thoughts like: wouldn’t if be lovely if / wouldn’t it be great to / wouldn’t it be fun to…

I embrace a Shakti based spirituality, a spiritual path which views spirit and matter as one, and every part of creation as sacred and equal. I aim to infuse everyday life with soul, spirit and beauty. I hope Ganesha’s Rat may offer a little beauty.

Miriel Designs

I have a small workshop, and I design and make everything by hand myself. A few things are made molds of and casted multiples at a local casting house. They also help me cast items that I sculpt in wax. I finish each item by hand.

I mostly use sterling silver, and gold, but sometimes also exotic alloys such as shakudo and shibuchi.

I’m always happy to do custom orders, feel free to message me if you have a request, or want to discuss ideas. I can work from your descriptions, sketches, or just some keywords.

I will draw up some sketches and together we will decide on a design. I will then create it, and if you want, take pictures of the process.

Take a look at my blog to see photos of how I work, and how jewellery is created:
I also have a facebook page where contests and sales are announced:
